IPL season-2 starts
The cash rich BCCI (Indian Cricket Board) and its product IPL are creating waves among the Cricketing Nations in the world. So far the highest paid player MS Dhoni has been dethroned by the English stalwarts Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff, who were purchased for $1.55 million.
Due to the 26/11 attacks by Pakistan over India, IPL committee has been forced to terminate the Pakistan players from dropping in. Australian Vice-Captain Stuart Clarke demanded $1million which apparently made him drop out of the cash rich IPL.
The second season in 2009 will also be sponsored by the construction giant DLF. The DLF IPL is tentatively scheduled between Apr 10 and May 29 2009. The 2009 version is also expected to be played in the same format. It appears as the IPL is the real player and the rest of the cricketing fields are and players are ‘puppets’
