Only about RAM
The speed and performance of a computer mainly depends on its configuration and its processor. Normally if the RAM space is greater, the computer will also be faster accordingly. You can increase your RAM space by adding additional RAM cards to the motherboard in the extra slots provided. Most of the motherboards today have a provision of adding up to 2 extra RAMs to it. Before purchasing additional RAMs, you must consider the following.
1. Make sure that you buy the same type of RAM as the one in your motherboard. SDRAM is compatible with only SDRAM and so on.
2. Also check with the system vendor whether the RAM you are purchasing is compatible with the chipset you are having. Certain motherboards only support a particular type of RAM.
There are also several softwares available in the market that helps you to boost the performance of the RAM by clearing its memory every now and then. Sometimes, a misplaced or a loose RAM may cause hindrance to the smooth running of the computer. In that case, always switch off the PC and unplug the RAM from its socket. Now clean the shiny edge of the RAM with a clean piece of cloth and insert the RAM back into the motherboard slot. This may solve the problem in 90% of the cases. If the problem persists, contact your system vendor for further help as it is likely to be a problem caused due to faulty RAM.
